The Warren Group Architects provided comprehensive design services, field verification, and code research for the Feasibility Study of the McAllen International Airport Terminal Building. This project was aimed at assessing the airport’s future needs and recommending strategies to modernize and expand the terminal to meet growing passenger demand and improve operational efficiency.
As part of the feasibility study, the team revisited facility forecasts and requirements, evaluating current conditions and proposing several design alternatives. Key recommendations included a complete overhaul of the terminal's restrooms, restaurants, lounges, and security checkpoints, ensuring a more modern, functional, and comfortable experience for passengers.
The study also encompassed a detailed master plan for eight additional gates, a support facility expansion, and the design of a new TSA office finish-out, along with expanded passenger and baggage screening areas. The project adhered to strict standards and regulations, ensuring that all design and operational recommendations complied with the highest safety and security requirements.
Following the completion of the feasibility study, the project progressed into the next phases of Design and Construction Management Services, setting the foundation for a transformative upgrade to McAllen International Airport's terminal, aimed at improving efficiency, passenger experience, and airport capacity for years to come.
